Free Sound Effects: You can find almost any sound effect for your project. I like this site because the sound effects are free provided you do not sell them or offer them for download.

Free Animated Backgrounds: Many to select from. You can use these to place in your web page, email, short movie, or power point. Remember that you can put it into your power point as a full background (full page) that you can work on top of, or as just a pasted graphic; remember how to do this. Since these are animated, they must first be stored in your picture file before you can insert them into your work; if they are not in your picture file, they will not be animated once your work is viewed.

Free Animation: There are literally thousands of sites that offer free animations to add to your technology project. Many sites contain animations that are related to Social Studies. Some of the best sites are

Video Backgrounds. This site costs. But, the product is great. If you really want to make your project look great, you might consider a video background. Animation Factory also now provides video background in HD. Be sure to select "more like this" under the video background that you like. I like the rocket making its way through an asteroid belt. (This might be more appropriate for a project you do while in college).

Free Midi or WAV Files: You can add music to your project. I like to use free midi files. There are literally thousands of sites that provide free midi music files and sound effects. The possibilities are endless. One of my students did a power point on the 1920s and 1930s; she found the music and sound effects of the Wizard of Oz in midi file and WAV; these files were included in her project. Another student doing a power point on the 1920's included jazz of the 1920s in her power point presentation. This link will take you to one of many sites.

Dynamic Drive - A great site that provides many different html codes to produce virtually any effect you might want on your project. I have used many of these codes on web page designs. I like this site because it provides demos of each effect. And, the codes are ready to copy and paste into your web page or other project. Instructions are easy to read and understand.

Blogger.com - Create your own Blogs on this site. You can select many different kinds of templates. Lots of fun. And, it's free. Be sure to set privacy settings. (All of my students will be required to create and maintain a "Current Event" blog using Blogger.com).

Calendars.net - Free online interactive calendar web hosting. The calendar that I created for this site, under Calendar link, was created using Calendars.net. Again, be sure to set privacy settings.

Proboards.com - There are many sites that offer free Message Board hosting. This is my favorite. It is well done. And, it includes great security filters. You can also change colors and add photo backgrounds.
